After 13 years of professional cycling, Fränk Schleck has decided to share his passion and his love for cycling with everyone. Right in the heart of Europe, in the region where three countries meet around the world-renowned Moselle town of Schengen, Fränk Schleck guides riders through an area with an incredible variety of ravishing landscapes.
THE OUTDOOR RACE COURSES
Schleck Gran Fondo provides a few race formats for different categories. The 150 km race, boasting 2,400m of elevation, tests the endurance of riders with an awe-inspiring course. The first 25km leads along the Moselle region which occupies much of the eastern part of the country and features slopes flanking the majestic Moselle River before going on to test, for the first time, the cyclist’s climbing qualities. This 150km course is a challenging race track with a repetition of short and steep climbs. The 85km race provides a shorter challenge for racers of all abilities.
The Moselle River is one of the major rivers of Luxembourg. Its trajectory along the Luxembourg border runs 39 km in length to form a natural boundary with Germany. Moselle lends its name to one of the most beautiful valleys of Luxembourg, famous for its steep hills and vineyards.
Frank Schleck, The Race founder and director, sees the collaboration between SGF and ROUVY as a great moment: “ROUVY has an outstanding technology, enabling a 1:1 and most realistic simulation of the races and an impressive international community of athletes. Despite the rescheduling of our race following Covid related national restrictions, we are happy to go global with ROUVY and provide an opportunity to anyone who wants to race on my beautiful training roads in Luxembourg. Hopefully, they will come one day, in person, to enjoy the same. Use the Rouvy Race as recon for the next edition of the Schleck Gran Fondo on 25 September 2021! THE AUGMENTED ROUTE
The released road course on ROUVY is a shorter version of 41,6km with 646m of altitude. The route has a 1:1 branding of start and finish gates, as well as other real-life objects. So, the riders of the Schleck GF, just as anyone non-familiar with the event, will enjoy the atmosphere of the picturesque scenery with the realistic presence as at the actual event. The course is now published and available for riding.
Registration for the official virtual SGF race, scheduled for May 29th, 2021 is open as well.

About Schleck Gran Fondo
The Schleck Gran Fondo Luxembourg is a UCI race and part of the Gran Fondo World Series (formerly known as the UCI World Cycling Tour). As a UCI-sanctioned road race, it serves as a qualifier to the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships held in Varese, Italy. The Gran Fondo Village provides a plethora of family activities, food and drink and also a DJ. The After Race Party, which includes a nice concert, will be the well-deserved reward after all the climbs the riders will face in the Gran Fondo.
